Giving Back
When we plan international trips, we also include opportunities for the group to visit local schools and orphanages.
You are encouraged to bring school supplies for children in orphanages near the places we visit or you can bring clean coats, jackets, gloves, rain gear, backpacks, water bottles, thermal clothing, wool socks or similar for the porters who make supported trips a success.
If you are not attending a specific trip but want to help, we can take your donated items for you or take up a collection to purchase bulk food items such as rice, beans and hygiene items and school supplies for children on our Kilimanjaro, Machu Picchu and Ecuador trips, which is the easiest way to contribute. We also collect hiking boots, gloves, hats, wool socks and rain coats for our porters on trips that include this service. You are encouraged to bring donations of good quality new or used hiking equipment or clothing. Rain ponchos are especially appreciated for Macchu Picchu and Kilimanjaro Treks. Ask us how you can help by sending us an email.
2020 Fundraiser for the Orphanage and School of Tim Harrington- Tanzania
This project raised funds for the construction of a much needed water collection tank allowing the children at the School of Tim Harrington, a school and orphanage, to have access to water for making food, drinking and bathing.
I have updated the fundraising campaign to reflect the current needs of the school which include building a chicken coop and adding a ne dorm that will house 20 more children. Check out the Go Fund Me page to see details for this fundraiser. https://gofund.me/60575f22
